Guntur: The AP government is all set to inaugurate the newly-constructed temporary building of the AP Assembly temporary at Velagapudi at the auspicious time of 11.25 am on March 2.
AP Opposition leader and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to shift to Amaravati by March 3. YSRC leaders are searching for a house for the party president, who has preferred one of three sites — Undavalli, Penumaka or adjacent to Vijayawada-Chennai National Highway.
The AP Assembly Budget session will start on March 6 and the Budget would be introduced on March 13. Mr Reddy, in his recent visit to Amaravati, announced that he will reside in the new capital after purchasing a house there and would continue to work from here.
Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam leaders and cadres were ridiculing the YSRC president as a “visiting leader” due to his prolonged stay at Hyderabad. YSRC sources said that after the Secretariat, government departments and Assembly shifted to Amaravati, Mr Reddy’s staying put in Hyderabad would give the wrong impression. That’s why he decided to shift before the starting of the Budget Session.
YSRC Mangalagiri MLA A. Ramakrishna Reddy recently shifted into an apartment at Sree Ram Arch at Undavalli on the way to the new capital. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stays at Undavalli, which is easily accessible from Vijayawada railway station and airport.
Sources said that as Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy also travels to Hyderabad and Bengaluru, Undavalli would be the best place to stay. YSRC leaders have primarily viewed three houses, including one big apartment and informed that he would take a final decision about shifting to a house or an apartment.
