Through the video, which she calls ‘note to self’, Sonali Bendre talks about how in the past two years she found her new normal. Sharing the video on social media, the actress wrote, “Note to self. P.S. For the rest of you, listen to your body and go for regular check ups, early detection helps!”
In the video, she can be heard saying, “Change is the only constant in life and how life has changed. It’s been almost two years. These two years have taught me many lessons. Gave me the patience to look for the light at the end of the tunnel. In this, I found my new normal and the strength to switch on the sunshine every day. The journey of knowing who I am reminds me that I am much more than this. For all of us going through this, let’s remind us that cancer doesn’t define us.”

Sonali Bendre was diagnosed with cancer in July 2018. The actress took to social media to announce the news, which sent shockwaves in Bollywood. At the India Today Conclave 2019 in Delhi, Sonali revealed that when she was diagnosed with the disease she initially blamed herself. But then her family was a huge support. She said, “I have had the most amazing support system. Goldie and my sister Rupa have been my support. Where Ranveer was concerned, he was on a school trip. I could’ve sent him home, but I said I need to see him. That’s the way Goldie and I’ve brought him up. It was about telling him something very honestly. If he didn’t tell him, he would probably misconstrue it.”
Sonali spent months in New York before returning to India fully cured. She came back in December 2018 and has been recovering well since then. She is often seen at film events and at parties with friends.
