Pandalam Palace to lead yatra
A meeting of Ayyappa devotees convened by the Ayyappa Dharma Samrakshana Samiti (ADSS) in Pandalam on Sunday decided to take out a Nama Japa Yatra, to be led by the Pandalam Palace, on Gandhi Jayanti on Tuesday demanding review of the recent Supreme Court order permitting entry for women of all age groups to Sabarimala.
In a statement issued here on Monday, ADSS general convener Prasad Kuzhikkala said hundreds of devotees would take part in the Nama Japa Yatra. The procession will be taken out from the NSS Medical Mission junction to the Valiyakoickal Sastha Temple in Pandalam at 3 p.m.
P.G. Sasikumar Varma, Pandalam Palace managing committee president; P.N. Narayana Varma; and K.N. Ravi, ADSS chairman; will lead the procession. Members of the Sabarimala Tantri family, the Ambalappuzha and Alangad Petta-thullal teams, former Sabarimala Melsanthis, Guruswamis who used to carry the Tiruvabharanam to Sabarimala, workers of the Ayyappa Seva Samajom, Ayyappa Seva Sanghom and Narayaneeya Samitis will take part in the Nama Japa Yatra, Mr. Kuzhikkala said.
