‘Nannu Dochukunduvate’ Movie Reviews
Actor Sudheer Babu’s maiden production is a reasonably enjoyable outing
Director R S Naidu’s writing has the spark. The storyline of Nannu Dochukunduvate isn’t exceptional. However, the attention to certain real-life character traits that this writer-director translates into the script, makes this film a reasonably fun outing.
Two contrasting characters are at the fore. Karthik (Sudheer Babu, who has also produced this film) is wedded to his work. He goes about his tasks mechanically, is a terror to his subordinates and only thinks of projects (where else but an IT firm). He doesn’t shed a tear even when his grandmother is no more. Maybe he feels the loss, but doesn’t show it. He’s there in person to console his father, but there’s always an unseen wall between him and others.
At the other end of the spectrum is the child-woman Meghna (Nabha Natesh). A college student, she moonlights as an actor in short films. She’s the kind who uploads flattering comments on her own work under different names on YouTube.
These two are thrown together when Meghna is roped in to act as ‘Siri’, the non-existing girlfriend of Karthik, just to appease his dad (Nasser). Why Siri? Because, Karthik can only think of the iPhone assistant’s name to escape a sticky situation when he’s probed about marriage.
