Mahesh Babu to undergo knee surgery
Mahesh Babu is riding high on the success of his recently-released film, Sarileru Neekevvaru, which released worldwide on January 11. The family drama, directed by Anil Ravipudi, boasted a huge star cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Vijayshanti, Prakash Raj and Rao Ramesh in important roles.
The actor has jetted off to New York with to chill with his family. Now, a report published on New Indian Express revealed that Mahesh Babu will undergo a knee surgery, which he sustained during the shooting of Aagadu in the year 2014.
Reportedly, he will undergo the surgery in the last week of January and might probably need five months to recover from it. In an earlier report, Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata Shirodkar revealed that he will stay away from films for about three months.
A sourced had told New Indian Express, “Mahesh had sustained a knee injury while shooting for the title song of Aagadu in Bellary and has been delaying the surgical procedure due to his hectic work schedule. Even though he contemplated surgery after SPYder (2017), things didn’t work out as he did not want to be out of action for a long period. Now that he has completed the promotional activities of his latest release Sarileru Neekevvaru, he has decided to go under the knife in the US.”
It is unclear whether Mahesh Babu will go ahead with the surgery in the US or Hyderabad.
Mahesh Babu, Namrata Shirodkar and their kids, Gautham Ghattamaneni and Sitara are presently chilling in New York. According to his wife, Mahesh Babu wants to take a break from films to spend some quality time with his kids as he has been continuously shooting for the past two years.
Once he recuperates from surgery, Mahesh Babu will start shooting for his next film, which will be helmed by Vamsi Paidipally.
