At least 4 killed, several others injured in blast at Cochin Shipyard
At least four people were killed and 11 others injured in a blast at the Cochin Shipyard on Tuesday.
According to reports, the blast took place around 10:45am onboard Sagar Bhushan, a Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) drilling ship, that was berthed for repair.
Cochin Shipyard is a public sector undertaking engaged in shipbuilding and ship-repair. The yard repairs the largest vessels in India, including ships of the oil exploration industry, the Indian Navy, the Coast Guard, and merchant ships of the ONGC.
