Ganesh idol immersion arrngements in Hyderabad
Four days prior to the final immersion day, a total of 2,500 Ganesh idols have been immersed at Tank Bund so far. About 10,000 to 12,000 idols are still expected to arrive at the location.
Commissioner, GHMC M. Dana Kishore briefed media about arrangements for immersion on Wednesday, after his inspection of the 18-kilometre route of main Ganesh procession between Balapur and Tank Bund along with the Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar. On the procession route and also on route of Moharrum procession, about 10,000 potholes have been filled up and 80-km road stretch is being repaired spending ₹15 crore. Mobile toilets are also being arranged as per the request made by the Ganesh Utsav Committee and expert swimmers and 10 boats are being deployed as precautionary measures.
All the Zonal and circle level officials have been instructed to clear the waste by the next evening. A total of 70,000 lamps are being provided for illumination at 35 immersion points. Besides, 117 static cranes and 150 mobile cranes are being organised by GHMC with no support from Irrigation department.
A total of 150 mobile transformers will be provided and 30 lakh water sachets will be distributed on September 23 and 24.
