Farmers’ Delhi protest LIVE updates
Farmers Delhi protest march LIVE updates: Farmers are demanding a three-week long Parliament session as well as the passage of two private members bill.
More than one lakh farmers from across India assembled in Delhi’s Ramlila grounds for a two-day protest which began Thursday. On Friday, the farmers will march from Ramlila grounds to Parliament Street. The farmers who have banded together under All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) are demanding a special session of Parliament to discuss the continuing agrarian distress and to seek the passage of two private member bills — on loan waivers and on assured procurement alongside MSP for farm produce.
At the Ramlila Maidan, slogans like ‘Ayodhya nahi, karz maafi chahiye’ resonated as farmers wearing red caps and carrying red flags started to gather. Volunteers from different organisations set up tents and provided the agitating farmers with water and snacks.
