It looks like former Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao has decided against making a re-entry into politics in Andhra Pradesh.
There were reports sometime back that Dasari would join the YSR Congress party and would be nominated to Rajya Sabha.
The reports followed the visit of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to Dasari’s residence to seek his support and the latter describing Jagan as a dynamic and efficient politician. However, there were no further developments from both the sides.
Apparently, Dasari dropped the idea of returning to active politics after he was charge-sheeted by the CBI in the coal scam a couple of days go.
He might have thought his return to politics at this stage would only create further troubles for Jagan, who himself is facing a CBI probe into his alleged disproportionate assets case.
However, he said he had decided not to return to politics which was highly polluted. “The political parties have turned into commercial entities. If I enter politics now, I have to face a lot of mudslingling,” he said.
