VIJAYAWADA: A head constable of Kakinada police station who was deputed for Pushkaram duties at Durga ghat, suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed while on duty.
According to officials, A Nagendra Prasad (45) went into a depression while on duties in the last two days and collapsed at around 8 am. He breathed his last while being shifted to a nearby government hospital.
He was a native of Kakinada town and police higher-ups informed the family members on the incident. Also a report would be sent to the state government in this regard and compensation would be paid to the bereaved family, said a senior official.
