While stating that a special officer will be deployed exclusively for saplings across the state, Mr Naidu has directed the officials to announce awards for the people and institutions, who encourage the plantation programme.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government also has decided to plant 25 lakh saplings and seedlings, on July 11 as part of Haritha Haram programme. The TS minister for animal husbandry and cinematography, Mr Talasani Srinivas Yadav, has been monitoring this programme in Hyderabad. The Telangana government is providing 25 lakh plants, mostly the ones suitable for the weather conditions in Hyderabad, at 27 centres free of cost.
The AP Chief Minister’s decision to plant one crore saplings has attracted the attention of the two Telugu states, as he seems to beat his counterpart in Telangana.
