Ms Caret added that the partnership, which was announced in November 2015, has now expanded beyond just products and services to building a diverse talent pool. “We’re working with customers, suppliers and Indian universities to make sure we are getting the very best people in the best roles,” she said.

The facility, which was inaugurated by the Union defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman, will also be building secondary aerostructures and vertical spar boxes. The helicopter has been selected for acquisition by the Indian armed forces.
